Annual Medical Center of South Arkansas Employees of the Year Award Recipients Announced
El Dorado, AR - 2/20/17: Every year the Medical Center of South Arkansas selects three individuals for Employee/Manager of the Year Awards. MCSA has named Rob Robinson, 2016 Non-Clinical Manager of the Year; Mehrdad Afsharimehr, 2016 Clinical Manager of the Year and Jessica White, 2016 Employee of the Year. These awards are the highest honor bestowed on a hospital employee and manager each year.
“Health care requires a special blend of great people skills, tireless energy and the ability to work well under pressure,” says Robert Rupp, Chief Executive Officer. “People who work in health care share the common desire to help others and make a difference in people’s lives. It’s a pleasure to recognize our employees for their dedication to our patients and to providing outstanding care.”
Rob Robison, 2016 Non-Clinical Director of the Year
Robison is the IT Director, a demanding job requiring his attention and skill set all hours of the day and night. He ensures every employee; every physician, clinics and community healthcare providers have computer and technology access they require. Since 1999, Robison has delivered technology-enabled solutions for programs and services that support and enable digital health innovation for communicating medical records and telemedicine outreach vital to the evolving demands of medical communication and equipment. Described as “a critical linchpin that keeps the hospital running 24 hours a day,” Robison is considered an unsung hero with his can-do attitude whether responding to a 2am call or a 2pm call. He demonstrates exceptional departmental leadership and importantly to all those at the hospital who call on him…extreme patience.
Mehrdad Afsharimehr, 2016 Clinical Director of the Year
Afsharimehr is the Director of Pharmacy at MCSA and directs the daily activities of the pharmacy department serving the inpatients and working alongside his team and the physician and nursing staff. Afsharimehr’ s dedication and leadership are recognized by his colleagues in situations requiring proactive problem solving, effective and efficient use of resources and communication about medications to patients and staff. His global experience enables him to identify and address day-to-day opportunities and concerns by thinking outside the box.
He is an active member of internal committees and teams with the goal of improving quality and patient care. His leadership is punctuated equally by his professional pharmaceutical skills, his no-excuses attitude and his positive leadership style with high expectations from his team, willingness to collaborate with other members of the management group and his charismatic comfort in highlighting members of his department for their accomplishments at every opportunity.
Jessica White, 2016 Employee of the Year
As the Human Resources Coordinator, Jessica White is consistently described as being warm, cheerful and never hesitant to go out of her way to help others. In her work, she demonstrates excellent customer service skills, greets employees and guests with a smile and goes above and beyond the scope of duties to help in many ways including HR related special events for hospital staff and for the community. White executes the entire new-hire process and paperwork; processes new-hires; maintains and tracks verification and expiration of all licensed staff including primary source verifications, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP; and assists in the annual merit process; provides assistance with MCSA Chaplaincy program and Health Education Department. White perpetually fosters a spirit of teamwork, innovation and a sense of collaboration.
“Each of our employees has a specific role in the delivery of quality health care to the people who live and work in our community,” said Rupp. “Our success in meeting the needs of the patients we serve is dependent on the collective efforts of all employees.”
