5/9/2018
May 10, 2018: El Dorado, AR…More than 3.1 million registered nurses help to save lives and maintain the health of people around the country. At MCSA, they are an integral part of keeping the Union County communities healthy.
“Nurses have a passion for caring,” says Amy Triplet, MCSA Chief Nursing Officer. “They want to make a difference in the life of their patients and have a commitment to quality and patient safety. They work tirelessly and seldom get the recognition they deserve. Our nurses are remarkable people.”
MCSA honored National Nurses Week by hosting a celebration for the nursing staff and a special luncheon for twelve Outstanding Nurses of 2018 selected by MCSA physicians, nurses and administration.
“It is a privilege to serve our patients and their families,” said Semekia Amerison, RN, BSN and Director of One Day Surgery. Semekia was named Outstanding Nurse Manager. “Our nurses understand that surgery patients are often stressed and need a little special attention when their surgery day arrives. We strive to give them support and care that they need.”
L National Nurses Week, May 6-12, is a time set aside to highlight the many ways that nurses work to improve health care. The annual recognition, sponsored by the American Nurses Association, is timed to coincide with National Nurses Day and the birthday of Florence Nightingale, who is known as the “founder of modern nursing.” This year’s celebration theme is “Nurses: Inspire. Innovate. Influence.”
